Catalog description

In this course, students learn about ethical and legal issues encountered by health information professionals. This course emphasizes legal principles, procedures, policies, and regulations which affect the control, use, and release of health information including HIPAA. Malpractice, compliance plans, fraud and abuse, and physician credentialing are also discussed.
