This course provides an introduction to healthcare delivery in the United States through an evaluation of systems and theory. Topics of study include the types of professionals employed in healthcare, the institutions that provide services across the care continuum and the effects of internal and external environments on the healthcare delivery system. Developments in the evolution of healthcare in the U.S. and changes in the current healthcare environment will also be examined.
