This course covers the components of social welfare policy and the issues surrounding the funding, allocation, and delivery of social services. The structure and purpose of the welfare state is examined in relation to the economic, political, and demographic shifts impacting social welfare policy and the future of programs. Students are exposed to various policy perspectives and the challenges of determining choices in social welfare policy.
