Catalog description

Diagnostic coding was developed to track diseases, classify causes of mortality, provide information for medical research and evaluate utilization of hospital services. This course will introduce the concepts of ICD coding including identification of the conditions to be coded, content of the reference manuals, coding conventions and basic coding guidelines.
