Catalog description

This course defines the position and responsibilities of a Stage Manager with a focus on musical theatre production and touring. From job search to post-mortem this course seeks to prepare students for participation in the production process as a stage manager for musical theater performance in community and professional settings. Topic will include vocabulary necessary for communicating with choreographers, music directors, and performers, an introduction to reading music and librettos, production scheduling, communicating and organizing meetings with production teams, cue-calling for musicals, safety concerns and union requirements for the purpose of fostering a safe and collaborative work environment.
