Playwriting I

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the tools and craft of playwriting. In a workshop environment, students will engage in writing exercises to develop their dramatic voices, shape characters, write scenes, and explore narrative structure. Writers of all levels are welcome and will be guided in creating monologues and dialogue sequences to complete a short play by the end of the semester. Guest speakers will include professional writers in theatre and television.
