Catalog description

This online, hands-on lab provides students with the opportunity to apply investment strategies in a real-world context through active case analysis and financial modeling exercises. The course complements core finance and investment coursework by allowing students to practice structuring deals, testing sensitivity scenarios, and comparing asset classes and risk-return profiles. Emphasis is placed on developing fluency with industry-standard tools such as Excel-based pro forma modeling and data visualization platforms. Students will evaluate equity and debt positions, consider partnership structures, and explore innovative investment vehicles. The lab also integrates market analysis and investment committee simulations to replicate professional decision-making environments. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to evaluate opportunities from both a quantitative and strategic perspective, preparing them for roles in acquisitions, development, asset management, and private equity.
