Catalog description
This introductory lecture course provides a foundational survey of entrepreneurship in real estate technology. Following the journey of local real estate technology start-ups, the course will analyze each stage of the entrepreneurial process, including problem identification, solution evaluation, scaling, pivoting, exits and acquisitions. The class is designed to help students observe the role that technology takes in disrupting traditional real estate workflows. Students will have the opportunity to explore examples of both local and global disruptions in various sectors including: real estate marketing, real estate brokerages, and short-term rentals. Throughout, students will engage in expository, analytical writing by preparing pitch presentations and accompanying documents for use while presenting to investors.
