Catalog description

A core component of Tulane’s real estate development program is assessing and transforming the built environment. This course affords a student of real estate the ability to research and represent the various structures and spaces that make up a streetscape, specifically the who, what, when, where, when, and why of their design and development. The studio introduces various individuals and institutions working in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors that influence the form and function of buildings and surrounding landscapes—architects, planners, developers, engineers, owners, occupants, investors, regulators, customers, visitors, and abutters. Special attention is paid to competing interests and investments in property and the places they form a part of.
