Applied Practice Experience

Catalog description

The Applied Practice Experience (APE) requires students to apply public health knowledge and skills in a supervised, practice-based setting. Working with an approved external organization or practice partner, students complete a structured project addressing a real-world public health issue and demonstrating foundational and program competencies. The experience is planned in consultation with the Office of Public Health Practice, faculty advisor, and site preceptor and culminates in defined practice deliverables. The APE strengthens professional skills and integrates academic learning with public health practice. Successful completion requires submission of a signed APE completion form by the Faculty of Record to the Office of Academic Affairs.
