Catalog description

This course prepares students to become public health leaders who understand their critical role as strategic communicators and skilled facilitators of shared decision-making. Students will examine the science of communication, the dynamics of interagency messaging, and the processes of negotiation and consensus-building. Emphasis is placed on the leader's responsibility to shape public discourse, influence policy, and ensure that messages are effectively crafted and delivered to resonate with diverse audiences - from internal staff to community members and policymakers.
