Catalog description

This course examines evidence-based interventions designed to promote healthy social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes for children and adolescents across school, clinic, and community settings. Students will develop foundational knowledge of behavioral and cognitive-behavioral approaches, as well as guidelines for evaluating the quality and level of empirical support for interventions. In the school domain, the course emphasizes prevention and intervention practices implemented through a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework. The course also examines the integration of client and stakeholder characteristics, preferences, culture, and contextual factors to guide intervention selection and successful implementation.
