Catalog description

This graduate level course focuses on the use of qualitative research methods (e.g., observation, interviewing) in the development and evaluation of psychological (behavioral health) and educational interventions in school and community settings. Additional foci include (a) the integration of qualitative and quantitative methods and data; (b) the link of theory, research, and practice; and (c) the conduct of collaborative/participatory research in applied settings. Course content includes exploration of methodology and review of relevant research, particularly from the fields of psychology, education, public health, and anthropology; and including international research. Course activities culminate in development of research proposals.
