Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to policy advocacy. Emphasis will be on practical advocacy approaches used in a variety of professional settings and roles. Topics will include the distinction between advocacy and administration, the relationship of advocacy and the policy process, and the relationship between advocacy and social equity. Students will analyze a policy issue of their choice and develop advocacy materials to effect social change for that topic.
