Catalog description

This elective is designed for fourth-year medical students serving as Clerkship Chiefs. The role of Clerkship Chief provides a unique opportunity to develop leadership, teaching, and administrative skills essential for future physicians. Students will apply for a core clerkship and work closely with clerkship directors and faculty to support the educational mission, mentor junior students, and contribute to quality improvement in clinical education. Through this elective, students will gain experience in academic medicine, team management, and professional development while enhancing the learning environment for peers. Additionally, students will be gain experiences in medical education that will help to distinguish them in the residency application process as well enhance their insight to education in further training.
