Catalog description

This course explores the foundations of exercise and fitness through both historical and contemporary lenses, examining how exercise practices have evolved from early physical culture to today’s digitally enabled fitness and healthcare environments. Students are introduced to basic principles of fitness programming and exercise psychology and learn how modern tools such as wearable devices and digital platforms are used to promote and monitor physical activity and health outcomes. The course explores the expanding role of exercise within digital healthcare ecosystems through evolving health policy and the integration of fitness professionals into preventive and clinical care models.
