Revolutionary America: Diverse Stories from a Continent in Conflict

In this course, students will explore the history of revolutionary America, from the Seven Years’ War through the Haitian Revolution. We will uncover not just what the American Revolution meant to the nation’s “Founding Fathers” but also the choices and experiences of diverse individuals from across the continent during the era of the United States’ struggle for independence. By the end of the course, students will have developed their own understandings of the American Revolution’s causes, course, and consequences as well as its accomplishments and shortcomings.
