Catalog description

This course explores multifaceted relationships between technologies and Middle Eastern societies, with particular attention to historically contested technologies and their sociopolitical ramifications. It cultivates ethical thinking about how technology both reflects and transforms existing social structure, and examine the interplay between innovation, social norms, and political authority.
