Catalog description

This 3-credit hour course teaches advanced quantitative methods in valuation of non-publicly traded securities and funds that invest in them (such as venture capital, buyouts, direct lending) to support informed portfolio choices and manager selection. Exposing the relevant institutional details and the incentive structure for market participants, the course will show how standard investment analysis must be modified for better decision-making in a private capital context, as well as how the traditional measures of private equity performance are prone to generating myths.
