Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology

Catalog description

This is an introductory course designed to provide the student with a summary of the present knowledge of distribution, natural history, risk factors, prevention, and treatment interventions for major cardiovascular diseases. Also, methodologic issues in epidemiologic studies unique to cardiovascular diseases will be discussed. The course format consists of lectures, discussion of current literature, and the epidemiologic constructs as they are applied to population-based research of cardiovascular diseases, and learning-oriented take-home questions.
