Writing for Academic Purposes

ENGL1011 is a 4-credit hour course that satisfies the freshman writing requirement and must be taken in the fall or spring of the freshman year. It introduces students to the writing of academic arguments, including analytic reading and research techniques for a variety of disciplines in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences, including business. Some entering students will be required to take CESL 1000 before taking ENGL 1011 . Focus on the goals and skills appropriate to international students and speakers of other languages.
