Catalog description

This course provides an overview of educational law, policy, and ethics. The content focuses on principles of school law, court decisions, and federal, state, and local policy that impact the decision-making process by educational leaders. The modules include the review of case law; the influence of law and policy on schooling over time; and the role of education leaders in policy advocacy and enactment. The course uses case law to authentically engage students in the decision-making process as they grow into effective leaders who act ethically, promote professional norms of integrity, provide moral direction, and create equitable school and system transformation and governance.
