Catalog description

Interdisciplinary, cross-sector, Whole Community partnerships are vital to ensuring disaster resilience professionals create the most impact, gain valuable skills, build networks, and ultimately, reduce risk. This course will provide future resilience leaders with the foundational understanding of how to plan for, design, operationalize, and evaluate partnerships to ensure they can achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Students will explore insights from business, NGOs, public sector, academia, and more that have been proven to deliver effective partnership activities. Key considerations such as outcome development, resource management, value proposition, as well as partner identification and engagement will be addressed. The course combines academic, professional, and applied perspectives to guide students through the best practices of partnership strategy development.
