Catalog description

This course emphasizes the text analysis and communication skills needed to become a collaborative director of film and television, with an emphasis on eliciting the best possible performances from actors. Directors will deepen their intellectual and embodied understanding of both acting and directing, synthesizing ways to analyze conflict in the script, lead with sensitivity, and offer adjustments to actors that create positive change. This is an upper division course that can prepare directors to enter the capstone sequence.
