Catalog description

The Senior Seminar caps the Core courses for the Comparative Literature Major and Minor and will be taught annually by rotating faculty, under a variable title. Seminars are organized around a major genre, concept or form and respond to current questions in the Humanities as specifically articulated in comparative approaches. Senior Seminars, with a comparative focus, propose to student majors a deep dive into any of the contributing subfields of research of our core and affiliate faculty: Literary and Cultural Studies, Media Studies & Visual Culture, Public Discourse and Performance including sound and music, Medicine and the Humanities, Environmental Studies, Digital Humanities. Comp Lit core faculty and affiliates propose Senior Seminars on the travel narrative, the philosophical novel, the writing of revolution, Global Environmental Literature, AI and Digital Humanities etc.
