Catalog description
This course introduces students to the practical design and deployment of artificial intelligence-based systems, with a focus on generative AI. Students will gain hands-on experience scripting small AI-driven applications, understand how these systems operate, and critically engage with the social, ethical, and operational challenges of deploying them in real-world contexts. Topics include text and vision analysis, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic frameworks, with a focus deploying, monitoring, and improving AI systems in production. This course does not count towards any Computer Science graduate program.
