An advanced laboratory that serves to introduce state-of-the-art laboratory techniques utilized in the multi-step synthesis of organic molecules. This intensive course includes molecular synthesis chromatographic separations of chemical mixtures, distillation, as well as characterization of organic molecules using multiple, advanced spectroscopic techniques. One four-hour laboratory period per week.
