Catalog description

Throughout this course students will develop a foundational understanding of the application of biomedical informatics to clinical practice, health informatics. Topics covered include clinical and translational research methods, data standards, ethical aspects and the importance of diversity in health informatics, as well as learning the basics of state-of-the-art methods and technologies such as Phenome-Wide Association Studies (PheWAS), Pharmacogenomics, and mHealth. An emphasis will be placed on the creation of reproducible reports and communication of biomedical informatics concepts to non-informaticians. Prerequisites: Students should have a basic knowledge of R.
