Catalog description
This seminar investigates the relationship between architecture and cinema, examining the use of space in film, and how architecture shapes cinematic storytelling. The course draws from architectural theory, film theory, and modern philosophy to help students critically analyze experience and representation of space in film. Over the course of one semester, we will aim to explore architecturally pertinent ideas around the development of space, experience, emotion, temporal landscapes, surveillance, urbanism, and much more.
