Catalog description

There are two primary purposes of this course. 1. This course will assist entering students in acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage the Troy University campus environment in order to maximize their potential for success at the University, in their careers, and throughout their lives. 2. This course will equip Troy University students with information, skills and experiences necessary for effective collegiate and lifelong learning. Students will be presented with strategies and practices for inclusion in other courses offered at Troy University, with a particular focus on English and Mathematics courses. Growth Mindset Theory and metacognitive learning strategies will be introduced to students. Self awareness, self-management, time management, goal setting, and other topics will be discussed. Note: Grade of "D" or better to pass this course. Students must retake this course if they do not meet minimum passing requirements.
