Catalog description
This course examines the principles of leadership in the sport setting. This course is designed to explore the critical function of leadership in sport organizations. The topics are approached from a variety of directions that include leadership theory, leadership analysis, leadership philosophy, and personal experiences both inside and out of the discipline of sport. In addition to gaining an advanced understanding of leadership theory and practice, students will consider their own approaches to leading organization. This course will not produce new leaders. Instead, it will provide students with an environment to engage in critical thought, scholarly discourse, and philosophical debate about what it means to lead.
