Catalog description

This course will enable the physical education major to develop scientific-evidence based knowledge and expertise in the areas of strength training, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, reaction time, speed and agility in traditional and non-traditional sports. This course will also give students the opportunity to learn how to test and evaluate athletes and to practice performing correct exercise technique. Emphasis will be placed on implementation and measurement of the above programs in conjunction with prescribed workout regimes for athletic development in youth athletes in a physical education setting.
