Catalog description

This course develops knowledge and strategies in literacy instruction for grades PK-6. Teacher candidates will learn strategies for promoting language and literacy development. Pedagogical instruction will be grounded in emergent literacy and science of reading research, focusing on oral language, vocabulary, phonological awareness, phonics, and writing. A grade of B or better is required.
