Accel Mental Health Nursing

Catalog description

Designed for students in the Accelerated MSN program, this course introduces mental health alterations across the lifespan. Incorporates selected theories of mental health and illness for interrelationships among physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual aspects. Explores evidence-based clinical decision-making in the utilization of assessment skills, therapeutic nursing interventions, communication, and collaboration for the promotion of optimal mental health. This course also provides students with clinical learning opportunities for restorative care of individuals experiencing alterations in mental health states.
