Catalog description

Designed for students in the Accelerated MSN program, this course provides pharmacological principles and their application to the role of the nurse in management of drug therapy, including appropriate evidence-based patient teaching, counseling, and safety and quality controls. Examines the actions, therapeutic uses, side effects, and nursing implications of major drug classifications used to treat common health conditions across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on safe medication administration, dosage calculations, and drug interactions.
