Continues to explore the concept of illness as an alteration in health states. Presents principles of safe, effective medication and intravenous therapy administration. Explore health alterations in adults in response to internal and external environmental dimensions, focusing on surgery, gastrointestinal, endocrine, integumentary, immune, and musculoskeletal systems. Examines selected theories for interrelationships among physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual components. Emphasizes evidence-based clinical decisions in a caring environment for the utilization of therapeutic interventions, communications, and collaboration for promotion of optimal health states in adults.
