Catalog description
World Music Cultures explores a range of music traditions from around the world. The course examines music through cultural, historical, and sociological context using critical listening, discussion, and personal musical identity. This cross-disciplinary Ethnomusicology course is heavily rooted in Social Science such as Anthropology, Geography, History, and Sociology. The course is open to all majors and no prior music experience is needed.
