Catalog description
A study of ther period 1946 to 1975 in Indochina with emphasis on the American involvement in the region as part of the larger Cold War context. The course draws heavily on the new historiography of the Vietnam War that has emerged following the collapse of the Soviet Union and is based on newly declassified documents from the western world (especially the United States), Vietnam, China, Russia and the former socialist camp. May be used for political science credit. Prerequisites: HIS 1111 and 1112 or permission of instructor
