Catalog description

This course will focus on higher-level grammatical and writing structures. By the end of the course, students will be able to write reflective writings based on poetry, short stories, academic journals, and a synthesis of two connected but opposing articles/viewpoints. Other writing topics will include APA/MLA citations, writing a professional email, topic and thesis statement practice, and utilizing the academic word list in your writing. A variety of grammatical structures, such as article and preposition usage, passive voice, and compound/complex sentences, will be covered.
