This course is an introduction to the basics of electromagnetic waves. It also introduces to the fundamental concepts and principles of optics, optical waveguides and devices. Next, the coarse talks about the introduction to optoelectronics, Gaussian beam propagation, interaction of light and matter, spontaneous and stimulated emission, laser rate equations.
