A survey of the purposes, functions and mani- festions of American and European dance forms from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. Dance History II covers the forerunners and pioneers of modern dance; avante-garde and post modernists; and the artists of jazz, tap, Broadway, film and current media, introducing dance students to the innovators, dancers and choreographers responsible for shaping 20th and 21st century dance
