Catalog description
This course provides a supervised clinical internship experience in an approved mental health counseling setting. Students engage in a range of professional counseling activities consistent with the roles and responsibilities of a regularly employed clinical mental health counselor, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, counseling interventions, consultation, and professional documentation. Internship experiences are supported by regularly scheduled weekly group supervision and site supervision in accordance with CACREP requirements. The course requires a minimum of 600 clock hours of internship experience, including at least 240 hours of direct service with clients in a semester. Grading is Pass/Fail.
