Intern: Schooling Counseling

Catalog description
This course provides a supervised clinical internship experience in an approved school counseling setting. Students engage in a range of professional school counseling activities consistent with the roles and responsibilities of a regularly employed school counselor, including individual and group counseling, consultation, coordination of services, program implementation, data-informed decision making, and professional documentation aligned with a comprehensive school counseling program. Internship experiences are supported by regularly scheduled weekly group supervision and site supervision in accordance with CACREP requirements. The course requires a minimum of 600 clock hours of internship experience, including at least 240 hours of direct service with students during the semester. Grading is Pass/Fail.
