Catalog description

In this clinical practicum, students participate in supervised clinical rotations across a range of approved healthcare settings. The program requires completion of seven core rotations in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Women’s Health, Pediatrics, and Behavioral Health. In addition to these required experiences, students will have clinical rotations in four distinct settings: inpatient, outpatient, operating room, and emergency room. Students may pursue elective rotations based on clinical site availability and individual scheduling. After each rotation cycle, students return to campus for summative assessments, which include written examinations aligned with the core rotations, clinical skills evaluations, case presentations, and faculty-led review sessions. These activities are designed to reinforce clinical knowledge, develop patient management skills, and prepare students for the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) and entry into clinical practice across the lifespan. Prerequisite: Successful completion of all didactic phase courses.
