Catalog description

Students will be introduced to professional behaviors and competencies necessary for becoming an informed occupational therapy practitioner. The Professional Conduct and Responsibilities Self-Assessment will be completed to help students identify the characteristics necessary to become an entry-level practitioner. The course emphasizes self-awareness, self-assessment, communication issues, and the value of life-long learning. Students will begin to develop foundational leadership skills and will be expected to articulate an understanding of occupational therapists’ role in the healthcare team, including requirements for credentialing. Prerequisite: Successful completion of the previous semester
