Catalog description

This course will cover issues related to economies in the global environment, international financial markets, and international financial management. Throughout the course, students will learn the basic issues of the macro-economy and issues related to balance of payments between national economies. Additionally, the course focuses on the international financial markets, specifically the foreign exchange market, the international money markets, and the conditions that define their interrelation. Finally the course will consider issues associated with the operation of a firm in the global environment, including exchange rate risk management, international portfolio investing and international project evaluation and financing. Key corporate financial issues will be explored including exchange rate exposure, taxation, securities pricing, the cost of capital, and the evaluation of foreign projects.
