Introduction to design methodology and practice. Product specifications. Concept generation and selection. Product design. Design for manufacturing. Economics of product development. Prototyping. Introduction to topics of product regulations. Teams of students work on a design project in the area of biomedical engineering. Design project work will continue in BME 4863 . Prerequisites: BME 2401 , BME 2402 , BME 3103 , BME 3212 , BME 4403 , and BME 4603 .
