Catalog description

Community psychology examines the relationships of individuals with their surrounding communities along with the ways society has an impact upon an individual and community functioning. This area of psychology seeks to understand people in their social worlds and uses this understanding to enhance people’s well-being in their environments. Some of the tools used by community psychologists includ e social service, mental health services, social action, psycho-education, and action research. Furthermore, the efforts of community psychologists often focus on preventing mental disorders and promoting community mental health and well-being.
