This course examines the effects of film and television on individuals, groups, cultures, a nd the global community. Topics include origins, creative elements, and themes of film and television; influences of film and television content and delivery on emotions, behaviors, cognitions, perceptions, and values; media literacy training; portrayals of social groups in film and television; roles of news media in agenda setting; transformation of the political process; and war as entertainment.
