Quality Assurance in Health Care

Catalog description

This course focuses on the effects of sophisticated quality and health outcome measures as used by individuals, employers and insurers to compare the results of various providers. The course will cover the forces of the customers and internal pressures to justify costs, continuous quality improvem ent, risk management, and changes demanding creative health care marketing techniques. Course content will include JCAHO an NCQA accreditation standards and processes, life safety and fire code requirements, and handling of biohazards such as blood borne pathogens.
